Csonka Worldwide launches Web site to give smokers relief
Convention-goers at the NATO Expo in late March got a first look at a new Web site that Csonka Worldwide President and CEO Michael Chunko hopes will become a beacon for smokers across the U.S. Where To Go To Smoke is intended to do just that—provide smokers with a listing of places they can go to enjoy a cigarette, cigar or pipe near where they live or work, or wherever they travel.
“Where to go to smoke has been on my mind now for over five years,” Chunko said. “With Big Brother looming over just about everything these days, it was only a matter of time before legislation started to push the point. The grand gesture in California a couple years ago hurt a tremendous number of tobacco establishments and smokers as well. Based on what has happened since in other states like Colorado, Virginia, New York and, recently, New Jersey, smokers are being pushed and pulled.
“WTGTS is just one way I and Csonka have been able to assist both this industry and all the smoker enthusiasts everywhere,” he said. “I firmly believe WTGTS provides this assistance in a non-judgmental way, and is most genuinely based on the support of the industry.”
In addition to finding a place to smoke by zip code, smoking enthusiasts can also input information on smoking-friendly locations they know and enjoy. Owners of retail shops, lounges, bars and other smoking-friendly establishments can also input information about their locations. Right now, the site particularly needs input to build up its information banks.
Chunko also hopes the site will eventually provide other information important to the industry.
“Through feedback from retailers, lounges and locations, we’ll learn more about what they need to position themselves and satisfy the market,” he said. “Also, with the feedback from smokers and non-smokers, we’ll learn how we can better serve their needs as well, both privately and publicly. ... WTGTS is in its (infancy) ...with many enhancements planned as it grows to serve all better.”
Readers are invited to visit www.WhereToGoToSmoke.com to check it out and input data about their businesses and favorite smoke-friendly spots.TR
